A Huntley school bus driver remains hospitalized Thursday after his arrest earlier this week for possession of child sexual abuse materials, authorities announced.

Jon M. Roth, 43, was arrested Tuesday and charged with 10 counts of possession of child sexual abuse materials for victims under 13 years old, according to the Huntley police department.

As of Thursday, Roth was undergoing a medical evaluation at a local hospital and will appear at a court detention hearing at a later date, after doctors clear him for release, according to Huntley police Deputy Chief Kevin Keane.

The Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force provided obtained information to the police department regarding a phone number registered to a person in Huntley who was attempting to upload potential child sexual abuse materials for download via a cloud-based online storage service, authorities said, adding that the investigation led to officials identifying Roth.

Authorities served a search warrant at Roth's home and he was taken into custody based on evidence gained during the search, police said.

Roth is a "suspended" school bus driver with Huntley School District 158, according to Keane.
