COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) says a man has been arrested after allegedly pointing a handgun at a bar employee.

According to CSPD, officers were sent to a bar in the 3700 block of Astrozon Boulevard around 11:45 p.m. on Thursday for a reported disturbance. Security at the bar had told police the suspect had allegedly brandished a handgun after getting into a disturbance with an employee.

CSPD says that after officers arrived, they contacted the suspect in the parking lot and learned he was allegedly highly intoxicated and tried to enter the bar with a concealed handgun. According to CSPD, after he was refused entry, the suspect started a verbal argument with the security guard and brandished the gun, pointing it at a staff member.

A struggle then took place over the gun and the suspect was locked out of the location, according to officials. CSPD says it then took 43-year-old Anthony Autrey into custody for felony menacing.

Autrey was taken to a local hospital for a medical clearance after he complained of an injury during the disturbance. CSPD says that while he was at the hospital, Autrey became combative and punched one officer in the head before missing another and being restrained.

The officer was uninjured and later returned to duty, according to officials.

CSPD says Autrey was later booked into the Criminal Justice Center for multiple charges including felony menacing and assault on a peace officer.
